Nature Based Programming

 Time spent in nature and in connection with animals

improves focus, soothes the autonomic nervous system, increases prosocial behavior,

reduces symptoms of stress, and improves emotional well-being.

Awe, wonder, and mindfulness are universal human experiences;

yet our modern lives make it more and more difficult to access their healing benefits.

Experience. Partners in Pause offers opportunities to re-experience the healing power of nature and connection with animals. In partnership with our animal ambassadors, we offer programming that awakens our innate ability to experience awe and connection in the present moment.

Educate. What is it about nature and awe that is restorative?  Discover the science behind this universally accessible resource. Learn how we benefit, why it is important, and what we can do to integrate these healing practices into our day to day lives.

Encourage. Your experience with Partners in Pause is just the beginning.  The healing power of nature has always been, and will always be available to us.  We encourage you to extend your experience beyond your time with us. While we strive to help you discover the benefits of nature based mindfulness, your practice and your path belongs to you.  We hope to walk beside you often.

Meet Our Animal Ambassadors

Why alpacas?  Why not?

The therapeutic benefits of mindfulness and awe are serious, but our approach doesn’t have to be.  Alpacas bring an element of interconnectedness, joy and humor.  Working with animals is unpredictable, just like life.  It allows us to practice flexibility of thought, and nonjudgmental acceptance.

While we can experience grounding and connection with any aspect of the natural world, alpacas’ demeanor make them uniquely suited to cultivating mindfulness. Working with alpacas requires patience, attentiveness, empathy and humility.  In order to gain the trust of these gentle, intuitive animals we must develop our own mindful presence.

We hope you will come visit and find out for yourself just what our alpaca animal ambassadors have to offer!
